Membership Fee
The third of the seven principles that cooperatives operate by is Members' Economic Participation. Each person applying for electric service with Tombigbee Electric is required to pay a membership fee of $5. This membership fee grants each member equal voting shares as every other member being served. This membership fee shall bear no interest and will be retained until the termination of service.
Deposit Requirements
It is a standard practice for a utility to require a security deposit before providing service, however in an effort to recognize financial responsibility, the following policy applies to all new connections or reconnections.

**Note: Each time an account is disconnected for non-payment, the deposit amount will be increased by $50 until it reaches the maximum amount of $350
Any person applying for service may have a current Tombigbee member, with a good credit rating, sign as guarantor and the new member will not be required to pay a deposit. In the event that a bill becomes delinquent, the delinquent amount will be transferred to the guarantor's bill without further notice. In addition to deposit fees, other charges may apply. These include connection fee ($35) and membership fee ($5).
Refundable Charges
All membership fees and deposits may be refunded after final bill is paid in full.

Terms of Payment
The above charges are net, the gross being 5% higher. In the event the current monthly bill is not paid within 15 days from the date of the bill, the gross charges shall apply.
